7. The Fall of Jericho (Joshua 6: 1 - 7)
After crossing the river Jordan, God commanded Joshua to lead the people of Israel to overtake Jericho. However, instead of being led by the angel, the commander of the army of the Lord that Joshua saw, to fight the city, God told them to march around the city, once a day then seven times on the seventh day. If they could march around the city seven times a day then the city couldn't be too big. So, it shouldn't be difficult to overtake the city by force. Why did God choose such a strange strategy instead? Also, how could the city walls fall down flat by their great shout? What could we learn about the whole episode?
